About the Pre-3’s Class
Our program is play-based and child directed. We believe that children learn and grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically when they play in an environment that is both stimulating and nurturing. We provide the children with open-ended activities in the art area, block area, dramatic play area, table toy area, sensory table area, and discovery/science area. Children also participate in a music circle, outdoor play, and snack time. There are parents working in all the play areas so that they can provide support and guidance when needed.
The Rundown
Age: For children age 2 by August 31st
Meets: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 – 11:00 am
Cost: $135/month + NSC tuition of $57.42/quarter

Parent Role
Parents/caregivers play an important role in our school. They function as assistant teachers every week in the classroom and hold positions to help run the co-op (everything from All-School Chair to Fundraising Reps to Arts and Crafts Parent). Co-op business and parent education take place in a monthly meeting.
Family participation provides a high adult-to-child ratio, lower cost than other preschool models, and a strong community of children and parents. The model creates not only a rich learning environment for children but also supports families in their parenting journey.

Teacher Aria
Aria Prame Hill has always found a way to combine her love of music and teaching children. After graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, Aria went on to pursue her passion as a jazz vocalist, studying music and performing.
She brings with her a myriad of experiences that include teaching at-risk preschoolers for AmeriCorps, teaching English to Nepalese school children in a remote village, working one-on-one with children with varying developmental disabilities, and bringing music classes to daycares and preschools around Seattle. Since 2010, Aria has been teaching young children and their families the early fundamentals of music through singing and movement in the early childhood program Music Together.
She loves capturing a child’s focus with engaging songs, rhythms, and stories and finds that moment of connection to be the most rewarding part of teaching young children. Aria believes in finding the unique interests of each child in order to guide their learning in an ever evolving way through play and free exploration.
Kristin Church, Parent Educator
Hi! I’m Kristin and I share my home with three kiddos (Freshman at Shorecrest, 6th and 2nd grader at school in Shoreline), a hardworking husband, and a 3-legged cat. This is my 7th year supporting 4 co-op classes: 3 at the Phinney Neighborhood Association (ranging from infants to Pre-K), and Victory Heights Pre-3s. In the pandemic school year of 2020-21, I was co-teacher for a Pre-3s program all year. I also spent many years supported the Kindergarten program and Woodland Park Co-op in Fremont.
I have 20 years of experience in the early childhood field, and I specialize in early childhood Special Education. For 12 years before becoming a parent education, I coordinated classroom accommodations for children with disabilities and supported outreach for parent groups to underserved populations with a local Head Start here in Seattle. I worked facilitating play groups through the Seattle Public Library for 7 years as well.
I am a potter, a fitness instructor at the Y, and recently became more of a runner than I’ve ever been. Other hobbies include house construction (especially after 10 PM), and working outside in my way-too-big yard.
A longtime NE Seattle resident, I moved to Lake Forest Park in 2019.
I look forward to spending the year getting to know your children and families.
